Death's Coffer — best items to buy & sacrifice

The coffer credits an item at 105% of its GE guide price (10,000+ gp only), but you pay the instant-buy price to get it — so your real edge is 105% of guide − what you pay. Ranked by ROI (return per gp): items where the spread is tight enough to actually clear a profit float to the top; ones where you'd overpay past the 5% are dropped.
Note: the coffer uses the slow GE guide price. When an item is crashing, its guide can sit above the live price for a bigger edge — but that needs a live guide-price feed the price API doesn't expose, so these figures use the live mid as the guide and cap near 5%.

OSRS Death's Coffer calculator

Death's Coffer credits a sacrificed item at 105% of its Grand Exchange guide price. If you acquire the item with a patient buy offer near its instant-sell price, your return is the 5% coffer bonus PLUS the buy/sell spread you capture by buying below the guide — so wide-spread items can return well over 5%. This tool ranks those items live.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Death's Coffer pay?

It credits an item at 105% of its Grand Exchange guide price — a 5% bonus over the guide value.

Why do some items give more than 5%?

Because you buy the item below the guide price. If you place a buy offer near the instant-sell price and the item is credited at 105% of the (higher) guide price, your total return is 5% plus the buy/sell spread — so items with a wide spread pay best.

How accurate are these numbers?

They're an approximation. The coffer pays on Jagex's slow-moving guide price, but our data has only live buy/sell prices, so we estimate the guide from the current mid-price and filter out one-sided price spikes. Everyday coffer profit is about 5%; the very largest plays come from items that have crashed while their guide price is still stuck high — which live prices can't reveal — so check the in-game guide price for those.
